My name is Joan Pond. I was working at Pleasure Island as the Industrial Nurse before it even opened. I have many stories about the construction period of P. I.

After opening day I was joined by Evelyn Jorgensen and between us we manned the First-Aid Station from a trailer (which had the only air-conditioning in the park!) Somewhere in my possession are pictures of this period of time. Do you remember Armand Davis ("the old prospector"), Charmaine (Diamond Lil), Kurt Schneider (the Town Crier) and Dickie O'Brien who would sew your name on a hat brim??
