PLEASURE ISLAND MEMORABILIA
Gil Arrington
Next
Gil was the diver who helped place Moby in the pond in 1959. He was with the park for its entire history. This piece of canvas fabric, handpainted by Glen Doane, hung over the Pleasure Island "Ye Whaler's Restaurant." around 1966-1967. Gil's godson Jim McKenney recently dug it out of its hiding place, soaking wet, in Brownfield Maine. The rest had rotted away.

Three cornered paper plate used for serving french fries, hamburgs. (This one was flattened for the scanner.) Jim McKenney remembers eating summer meals on these plates for years after Pleasure Island closed.
