" 'And there on our right you can see an old schooner that used to travel up and down the coast of Africa trading with the natives.' It bugs me that I can no longer give the whole Moby Dick spiel accurately by heart." Frank McGrath

The last time I looked in 1996, Moby Dick was in the last pond on the LEFT in front of 590 Edgewater. If you climb to the roof of 590 Edgewater on a sunny day, you should be able to see Moby Dick. If they won't let you climb to the roof perhaps Waste Management will let you look from their office which overlooks the pond. I am sure the local Scuba club may help you too. |

Jeff Newcomer of Spofford NH, who sent in copies of the slides below, worked on the Moby Dick ride in 1966 & 1967. In the photo below the left dock crew member is John Broderick (who is now a supreme court justice in New Hampshire); Milard Stahle is the captain.
Brad Davis, San Diego, CA Exploring this website has been both a wonderful, and sad, experience. I was the foreman on the Moby Dick Hunt the summer of 1967 and I would enjoy hearing from any of the other helmsmen from that era. I loved that job! I could take a boat load of passengers into Clipper Cove today. "Welcome aboard mates, I'm Capt. Brad and I'll be your helmsman in search of that great white elusive whale, Moby Dick." And at the end of the adventure, "Up ahead is the light house Clipper Cove and home port, I never thought we'd make it alive". E-mail:Bradshawshome@AOL.com |
